Kendal Makes It A White Christmas
Another Mainstream Student Makes It To The Professional Stage
Christmas has come early for Andrew and Lynne Boardman as their 11-year-old daughter Kendal has just landed the part of Susan in a multi million pound theatre production of White Christmas.
Kendal will star alongside Aled Jones and Susanne Shaw with an ensemble of thirty performers and a 17-piece Orchestra at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth and then at the Lowry, Salford between 27 November 2009 and 9 January 2010.
Kendal has been developing her singing, dancing and acting skills at Mainstream Theatre Arts since she was three years old. Barry Carr, Mainstreams boss, was so impressed with her at a recent audition that he gave Kendal the part of the wicked Maleficent in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty. Kendal was so good in the production he had no hesitation putting her forward for her first big audition for a professional show. Barry said, "Kendal’s an outstanding student. She’s very talented, but just as importantly she has the passion and commitment required for the professional stage."
Kendal's dad, Andrew, said, “we are absolutely over the moon. It’s going to be an amazing experience and the best Christmas ever for our family.”
Kendal said, "this was my first professional audition that Mainstream got me and I got the part; how cool is that? At first I couldn’t believe it, but now it’s sinking in. It’s going to be hard work but I can’t wait to get started."
