Three different classes in a single session
StageWise is a combined performing arts class that includes expert tuition in drama, dance and singing in one great class. All classes last for three action-packed hours except for the preparatory class for ages 5 and 6 years which lasts for 1½ hours.
StageWise classes are based on a unique syllabus created by Mainstream that combines academic and professional training in classes that are practical, great fun and hugely rewarding to take part in.
Increase confidence; learn skills for life
StageWise classes are designed to teach performing skills in a practical and enjoyable way, but they also benefit our students in many other ways. Parents, teachers and even the students themselves often notice how our classes help to increase confidence and improve abilities in both verbal and physical expression. Our students develop their imaginations and creativity and learn about problem solving, working as a team, leadership and discipline and make lots of new friends.
Above all, StageWise is designed to be fun, so our students enjoy learning with us and have a great time in classes and productions, and they take away some memorable experiences that stay with them for many years.
Solid educational foundations
Our StageWise classes are based on the same core syllabus as the work we do in schools, which covers many practical elements of English (including speaking and listening), music, PE and PHSE in the National Curriculum at all key stages and levels as well as elements of the National Literacy Strategy, GCSE and 'A' level syllabuses and the recommendations in the Arts Council of England's Drama In Schools.
StageWise classes can give any child an advantage in school drama, dance and music lessons, as well as benefitting them in some other subjects.
Professional performing arts training
StageWise is a practical class that utilises specialist performing arts teachers to teach practical performance skills in a creative, encouraging and supportive atmosphere. We are able to teach practical skills to a higher level than would normally be taught in regular school or college courses. This will complement any school or college teaching and also help our students to be far better prepared for further or higher education courses or for a career in the performing arts.
Within this syllabus we allow our highly-qualified teachers some freedom to utilise their own ideas, special skills and personalities. This allows them to tailor their classes to the needs and interests of each group of students while still providing the fully-rounded training that our curriculum demands.

There is no need to book or enrol in advance, and there is no obligation to continue to attend. All are welcome, regardless of experience or ability.
