Join a separate group for young people dedicated to putting on productions, allowing its members to get involved in every aspect of production from onstage to backstage.
MTA’s Youth Theatre is a group of young people dedicated to creating theatre performances supervised by experienced theatre professionals.
The Youth Theatre is a special group for a limited number of MTA students that is dedicated to creating and performing theatre. The group will work with various theatre specialists on putting together performances for an audience, and will have the chance to contribute towards direction, production, design and technical aspects as well as performing.
The purpose of the group is to add to the tuition that our members get in regular classes by immersing them in the production process, giving them practical experience beyond what would be possible in class.
However the group provides more than just a constant cycle of rehearsals. Different performances will require different skills from performers and production teams, and specialist teachers will be brought in to provide tuition in these skills beyond what is needed for the current production.
Membership of the group is by invitation and audition, as we need to be sure that everyone in the group has reached a sufficient level to be an active member of the group and also that they are keen to put in the time and effort required to create good theatre.
